Laser Periodontal Therapy

80% of people have periodontal disease and don't even know it. Periodontal disease attacks the gums and the bone that support the teeth. When plaque and tartar are not removed, they begin to destroy the gums and bone. Periodontal disease is the number one reason for tooth loss and research suggests that it's linked to other diseases including stroke, bacterial pneumonia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and increased risk during pregnancy.

An appointment with one of our hygienists is much more than a "cleaning". It's an opportunity for us to evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums to ensure that periodontal disease is detected and treated. In fact, periodontal (gum) care is our high priority because as dangerous as it is, it can be very difficult to detect. Our hygienists have the skills and experience to assess signs and symptoms including swollen, receding and bleeding gums.

In the unfortunate event you're diagnosed with periodontal disease, our Dental Hygiene Team can provide you with a series of very effective treatments called Laser Periodontal Therapy.
